Conference and Events Co-Ordinator The View Hotel Eastbourne, Grand Parade, Eastbourne, Sussex, BN21 4DN

As Conference & Events Co-Ordinator within the commercial team you will aid and assist in securing business and revenue targets. You will be the first point of contact for all enquiries relating to the Conference and Banqueting facilities within the hotel and will ensure business is maximised at all times.

As Conference and Events Co-Ordinator you will play an integral part in making those all important personal and professional events come to life for our customers. Whether it be a wedding, anniversary, birthday celebration or business conference, you will ensure that every detail is considered and carefully arranged in a professional yet warm and friendly manner.

As Conference & Events Co-Ordinator you will:

  • Deal with sales enquiries in a proactive way while aiming to convert the right business.
  • Use the Sales & Catering diary in order to maximise sales revenue.
  • Identify all sales opportunities and act upon them, developing potential business into actual business.
  • Liaise with the accounts department to ensure all invoices are sent out correctly and paid on time.
  • Ensure that all customer correspondence is accurately stored and that comprehensive records are kept of clients' current and past requirements.
  • Actively maintain an efficient chase system for all enquiry types.
  • Follow-up after each event to gather feedback.
  • Assist with the development of the commercial sales team.

What we need from you:

  • Experience in a Conference and Events sales or hospitality sales environment is ESSENTIAL.
  • Great communication skills – able to confidently and effectively communicate with people at all levels, face-to-face and on the phone.
  • Good administrative skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Calm under pressure– used to working to tight deadlines and multi-tasking.
  • Computer literate – confident in the use of Microsoft Word & Excel. Knowledge of ‘Sales & Catering’ and ‘Opera’ is desirable but not essential.
  • Flexible regarding working hours. As this is a 24 hour, 7 days a week business, attendance at events on weekends or in the evenings will be required. Office hours are 9-7.
