The View Hotel EastbourneGuest Service Manager

What are we looking for?

We now have an exciting opportunity to recruit an experienced Guest Services Manager who has worked in a similar sized property, and will thrive on supporting the running of this very succesful hotel.

Reporting directly to the Reception Manager you will manage the needs of the guests and inform other team members of guest needs in order to ensure an exceptional guest experience. 

Key responsibilities

  • Meet, greet & direct all hotel guests.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for guests and ensure the hotel departments are fully briefed on their requirements.
  • Where required, support meeting and event host duties including breakout reception and welcome.
  • Seek verbal feedback from guests on a regular basis and respond to all guest queries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • On every shift, champion and drive/be part of the duty manager responsibilities in order to support the hotels business needs.
  • Serve as a point of contact for long-stay guests of fourteen days or longer- ensuring they feel comfortable and can ask advice or information.
  • Manage, record and resolve promptly guest or customer complaints.
  • Ensure a very high level of customer service is constantly maintained for reception, lobby area and lounge.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all facilities and services provided within the hotel and identify opportunities for upselling and promoting when appropriate.
  • Show creativity with ideas regarding lobby/ reception decoration at suitable seasonal time periods in order to enhance the overall image and warmth of this area for guests.
  • Communicate with Heads of Departments and track and reward regular guests for their loyalty: choose rewards that meet guest preferences while remaining within the allocated budget.
  • Maintain good communication and work relationships in all hotel areas.
  • Attend all reception & customer focus meetings and on request, HOD meetings.
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all Health & Safety legislation.
  • Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems.
  • Assist with other departments as necessary to meet guests expectations.
  • Manage internal communication, day-to-day activities of guest services initiatives and services.
  • Support Reception Manager to develop and communicate departmental strategies and goals.
  • Attend all pre shift meetings and review all information pertinent to the days activities.
