We are now looking to recruit an inspired Restaurant Manager, who will thrive on the successful running of the City Hotel 4* Restaurant.

The City Hotel Derry is a large 158 bedroomed hotel with many facilities available.

Ideally, you will need at least 3 years proven management experience within a good quality“ restaurant style”, you must be able to demonstrate excellent people skills, training, developing and driving your team, whilst maximizing every opportunity to increase sales, resulting in an efficient and smooth service that creates an ambiance second to none.

You will need ambition and personality to be able to market the business as well as manage all financial aspects in order to drive the business successfully. We will be looking for someone that has flair, a great personality, and will leave their mark on this Restaurant.

You must be able to keep calm under pressure, be confident, organised, maintain a hands on management culture, and have exceptional attention to detail. Motivating your team to drive great service delivery is a MUST. This will undoubtedly be a very busy environment.

You will be in charge of your own profit centre, so a keen business outlook is key. Wage and Gross Profit control will be a day to day challenge. You will need to be able to embrace the restaurant concept and treat it as your own.

How do you socialise with each other, in and out of work?:

In January of each year we put on a Staff Christmas Party. In past years we have provided a 2 course meal, bowling, disco, raffle and Staff Annual Award Ceremony. This was all paid out of our Staff Social Funds.

In December of each year we put on a Children’s Christmas Party. (Employees of the City Hotel that have children or nieces / nephews) We bring in Santa to give gifts to the children. Provide dinner, drinks and a sweets buffet. We also bring in bouncy castles, party mascots, balloon artists and face painting models. Great fun is had by all…………………….

 

During the year we put on different events E.G – Service Week. Events include and change each year. Examples of events are as follow –

 

  • A full 7 day special menu to be served to the staff – To be included in this a fruit basket for healthy eating option.
  • Go Karting night Creggan Country Park
  • 2 course Lunch to be served by Managers in the Restaurant
  • Cinema Tickets sale
  • Bowling and basket of food & drink offer
  • 1 FREE Holiday day per day to be picked out of hat
  • Laser Tag – Springtown
  • Boot Camp on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of Service Week from 06:30 – 07:30 - £2 charge – All money raised will be given to charity
  • 50% Discount to be offered to employees to eat in our Restaurant – A ’La Carte menu only . Max 6 people per setting

 Each Dept. also goes out locally and socialises together. This can be going out for a meal, a pub crawl or cinema nights.
